Rothesay Brandane AFC lost at home on Saturday to a very good Westerlands team in the Caledonian League Division 1A.

The Danes were dealt a bitter blow before kick off with five first team players unavailable and the management team had to play six players with ages between 16 years and 19 years from Roddie Leitch`s youth team.

The home side were only one down at half-time and were still very much in the game.

A bad five minute spell in the second half saw them lose another three goals, and the match was all over.

The players all put in a big shift in this match and the future looks bright if the young boys and older players apply themselves in this way.

This Saturday the Brandanes are at home to Eaglesham at the Stadium Park. Eaglesham beat the Danes 3-1 away from home in the first game of the season.

All players should please report to later than 12-45pm for a 2pm kick off.
