Rothesay Brandane lost 3-0 on Saturday to Hamilton in the second round of the West of Scotland Cup.

The Brandanes were always playing catch up throughout the 90 minutes after losing a goal in the fourth minute of this cup tie.

The early goal could have been avoided but the Hamilton number eight was allowed too much space just outside the 18 yard box and struck the ball high into the net to give keeper, Ryan Leitch, no chance.

For a while the game could have gone either way with both teams making chances but both goalkeepers were in top form. It was Hamilton who scored a late couple of goals to finish the game winning by three goals to nil to go into the next round draw.

Rothesay Brandane AFC are back on league duty this Saturday with a home game against Stenhousemuir with a 2pm kick-off. It’s an afternoon they’ll hope to use to get back on track.

All players should report by 12.45pm.
