Brandanes secure a battling draw

STUART McKECHNIE’S goal 12 minutes from time earned Rothesay Brandane AFC a share of the spoils after a battling 2-2 draw at home to Viewfield Rovers in the Caledonian League on Saturday.

The hosts had briefly led through Darren Harper’s goal in the tenth minute, but Viewfield levelled the scores just 60 seconds later - and though the Danes fell behind in the opening minute of the second half, they dug deep into their reserves to secure a point which was the least they deserved from their first home league match of the campaign.

This Saturday, September 17, the Brandanes have a Caledonian League fixture at home to Hamilton FP, kicking off at 2.30pm.
