The second year of the Co-op Charity Day took place on Sunday at Rothesay Golf Club, with a good turnout of players giving support to a competition organised by local store manager and Rothesay member Malcolm Brown.
The competition took the format of a stableford points competition with prizes for the best junior, best senior, and nearest the pin.
The winner in the senior section was Ron Cuthbertson winning on the count back after he and George Hanson had tied on 41 points. Ron had made it hard for himself after he failed to score any points at the 8th and 9th holes but still managed to reach the turn on 18 points. Ron then managed to get his game back on track to come home in 23 points.
George was the complete opposite playing the front nine in one under par or 23 points then coming home in 18.
