Four island golfers are set to take on a challenge next week to raise money for two local charities.

David McLachlan, Gordon Knox, David Greer and Robert McBride plan to visit Bute’s three golf courses on Tuesday, July 19, playing 18 holes at each in just one day, with the added challenge of carrying the clubs around the courses and also walking the distances between them.

The total distance covered will be 21 miles - or 37,000 yards for the golfers amongst you!

The lads will be starting at 5am and hope to complete the task before last light at around 10pm.

Benefitting from their efforts will be Calum’s Cabin and Macmillan Cancer Support, with all funds split equally between the two.
