McClean's 36-hole total of 148 was enough to give him a comfortable victory over his home course, eight shots ahead of the Millport Golf Club duo of Craig Pirie and Paul Robinson, to add to the Rothesay club championship and Port Open titles McClean
has already won this summer.
Top honours in the senior event, though, went to Craig Pirie's father Les, also of Millport, who secured his first area title at the age of 50 by a three-shot margin from Bute Golf Club's Graham Bolton.
Pirie ensured victory with a fine three-under-par 66 in the afternoon, including a back nine of 30, for a total of 138, three ahead of Bolton, with the Rothesay pair of Chris Timms and George Reynolds a further shot behind in equal third place.
The home club's John Gilchrist finished equal fifth on 144, one shot clear of defending champion Ross Currie of Machrihanish.
It was a good day for the Millport club as their team of Pirie, Lundie and Robinson won the right to represent Argyll and Bute in the national club championship final, to be played at Windyhill at the end of September.
The area executive would like to thank Rothesay Golf Club for staging the event and commend them on their course's fine condition despite the poor weather lately.
The next county action will be the handicap championship, also to be played at Rothesay, on Saturday, September 13. Entries should be with area secretary Richard Biggart no later than Thursday, September 4.
