Bute's second team has been on good form lately, having recorded a series of well deserved wins. But few could have predicted Saturday's result, especially after a deadlocked first half which did not produce any goals.
Both teams began the game w
ell, with possession going to from side to side, but neither looked likely to score and it made for a stalemate of a first half.
The frustration of missed opportunities seemed to affect the morale of the Ballachulish team, who appeared to let their tempers get the better of them on some occasions.
The second half, however, was all about Bute, who saw all their efforts fall neatly into place, with their built-up frustration at the first half deadlock used in the best possible way to silence the home side.
The visitors' first came within minutes of the restart, McCready finding the net with a tap-in, spelling the beginning of the end for the Glencoe side.
The next few goals came in quick succession, with McKirdy making it 2-0 a short time later, getting into a good position to tap the ball into the net following a great cross.
McKirdy's second came five minutes later following a move past a defender which allowed him to blast a shot into the net.
Not to be outdone, McCready scored his second a short while later to end any faint hopes of a Ballachulish comeback.
Disarray was evident in the Ballachulish defence, who were not able to fight back the onslaught of the Bute forwards, and McKirdy and McCready scored another goal apiece in the 75th and 87th minute of the game to complete the scoring.
Despite the goalscoring heroics of McKirdy and McCready, it was Bute's midfielders who were they key to the win, especially Leighton Reid, who was one of the main architects of the visitors' victory, working hard to switch between defensive and attacking positions throughout the game.
