Both matches were played in sweltering conditions, and the team's six-point haul is a tribute to the same eleven players, who played in both games and who all showed great fitness and mental strength after coming back from a goal down to win by the s
ame score on each occasion.
Sean Lawrence made a welcome return to form on Saturday with a two-goal haul against Rhu, opening the Danes' account on 19 minutes from a Neil Whitelaw through ball before doubling his tally with a real contender for goal of the season midway through the second half, going on a memorable solo run before a fantastic left-footed finish from 18 yards.
Wes Pattison sealed the win on 82 minutes, finishing well with his right foot from a Gary McGregor pass.
The Gartcosh game on Sunday proved to be a mirror image of the previous day's match, with the home side trying a physical approach early on - with some success - before the Danes rose above it to run out comfortable winners, showing no signs of fatigue from the previous day's exertions.
Malcolm Brown levelled the scores nine minutes into the second half, converting a Pattison cross from six yards with his right foot, and Stuart McKechnie gave the island team the lead just 60 seconds later when he fired home a superb effort from 18 yards from an Iain Livingstone cross.
Livingstone himself completed a fine weekend's work for the Rothesay men when he found the net from another Pattison cross eight minutes from the end.
