The latest progress update on major repairs to the Wemyss Bay ferry terminal will be available at a public drop-in session in Rothesay tonight (Thursday, December 10).

Civil engineer Brian Sydney from the pier’s owners, Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL), will be on hand at the Green Tree Room in the Moat Centre from 6pm until 8.30pm to speak to members of the public about the work.

The pier closed on October 1 at the start of the 24-week contract, and is due to reopen to Caledonian MacBrayne’s Rothesay ferry service - currently sailing to and from Gourock - on March 18, 2016.

Work is due to be put on hold for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year holiday; CMAL’s fortnightly drop-in sessions in Rothesay will resume on Thursday, January 7.
