The owners of Wemyss Bay ferry terminal have cancelled the latest in a series of Rothesay drop-in sessions to update island residents on the progress of major repairs to the pier.
The event was due to have been held in the Moat community centre in Rothesay tonight (Thursday, February 4) - but the pier’s owners, Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL), say the cancellation is due to the low uptake from members of the public at previous sessions, with only one or two people attending the fortnightly updates.
CMAL have, however, promised that the latest written progress report on the £6 million work will be distributed by email “in the next few days”.
Fortnightly drop-in events have been held at the Moat Centre since the work began in October to keep islanders informed about the work.
The next drop-in is due to take place on Thursday, February 18, but we’ll publish details of the latest written progress report as soon as we receive it.
