VIDEO: ‘Pistol’ Pete Wearn on target in Rothesay return

‘Pistol’ Pete Wearn brought his unique brand of throaty blues and raucous steel guitar playing back to Bute on Saturday to play at Craigmore Bowling Club.

Last seen in Rothesay supporting Stefan Grossman in 2015, Wearn - a blues aficianado from long before the time he first set foot in the genre’s hertlands in the American South - this time shared the bill with Glasgow singer-songwriter RM Hubbert, and opened Transclyde Music’s gig with a full-blooded performance, combining self-penned works and covers of songs by, among others, Jerry Lee Lewis and Bob Dylan, that quickly got feet tapping around the venue.
