Caledonian MacBrayne’s 2014-15 winter timetables and fares come into operation this Monday, October 27.
The timetables on the Rothesay-Wemyss Bay and Rhubodach-Colintraive routes are similar to those of last winter - although, as we’ve reported, the Rothesay service will alter significantly in February 2015 when Wemyss Bay pier closes for major repairs, with services diverted to and from Gourock and fares reduced by 15 per cent as a result.
Until then, on the Rothesay route, the price of a passenger saver return ticket bought at Wemyss Bay falls from £8.60 to £7.20, while the cost of the same ticket for a car falls from £34.40 to £27.50.
On the short Kyles crossing, the passenger saver return fare from Colintraive falls from £2.85 to £2.45, and the car return from £16.95 to £12.90.
CalMac’s winter timetables and fares apply across the company’s service network until April 2, 2015. Click here for more information.
* The end of CalMac’s 2014 summer timetable also means that this Saturday, October 25, is the last day of the island’s Ettrick Bay summer bus service: from Sunday onwards, all buses which previously ran to and from Ettrick Bay will start from and terminate at Port Bannatyne.
