The upgrading of power cables on the A78 at Shore Road, Wemyss Bay, will result in travel disruption for motorists for an estimated six weeks.

SP Energy Networks is due to commence work on August 31, 2015, laying underground cables in Shore Road, which may result in delays for motorists travelling to or from Bute. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

THe Project Manager for SP Energy Networks, Jim Webster, said, “This work in Wemyss Bay will modernise the electricity network and reinforce supplies for homes and businesses in the local area. We have planned the temporary traffic management measures as carefully as possible to keep any disruption to a minimum, and residents have been kept informed of our plans. This project is designed to bring long-term benefits to the area, and we apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause in the short term.”
