Caledonian MacBrayne’s Clyde operations manager attended a public meeting in Rothesay on Wednesday to answer questions on the closure of the Wemyss Bay ferry terminal in the new year.

Simon Richmond was invited to attend Bute Community Council’s monthly meeting at the Pavilion following the company’s announcement last month that Wemyss Bay would be closed for four months from February 2015 onwards for major repairs to the pier, with Rothesay’s ferry service diverted to run to and from Gourock as a result.

Mr Richmond was accompanied by CalMac’s Rothesay and Wemyss Bay port managers, Alison Cowan and Scott Goodwell, and by civil engineers Ramsay Muirhead and Brian Sydney from Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited, owners of the Wemyss Bay terminal.
