A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the theft of property, valued at £360, from Rothesay Golf Club.

The items were taken from the town club between 8.30am and 11.30am on Wednesday, July 6.

The man was held in custody pending an appearance at Greenock Sheriff Court.

In an unrelated incident, two golf caddies - with an estimated value of £600 - were stolen from Port Bannatyne Golf Club between midnight on Saturday, June 25, and midnight on Monday, July 4.

Any information should be passed to PC Ireland at Rothesay police office.
