Theft of £1,500 from Bute business

A 56-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal following the theft of �1,500 from a Rothesay business.
A 56-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal following the theft of �1,500 from a Rothesay business.

Police received a report of a sneak-in theft of £1,500 from a commercial property in Rothesay’s Victoria Street on Saturday afternoon.

The money was recovered after a search warrant was executed, and 56-year-old man is the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.

* In a separate incident, a man was arrested for shoplifting after a number of items were stolen from a shop in Montague Street at 4.30pm on Friday, July 1. The man was traced and has been subsequently charged with shoplifting. The value of the items stolen was £65.
