Britain’s Got Talent winner Jai McDowall is coming to Bute in May - and he’s looking forward to the experience.

Jai, from Tarbolton in Ayrshire, won the final of the ITV talent competition in 2011, and will bring his ‘Up Close and Personal’ tour to Rothesay Pavilion on May 18.

“You didn’t really get to know anyone [on Britain’s Got Talent],” Jai told The Buteman, “and the performances I’ve done have always been to promote the music.

“With this tour it’s a chance to play smaller venues and make more of an impact.

“I’m from a small village myself and so I totally understand small communities. Playing to a smaller and more intimate setting should be great.”
