A roadshow in Rothesay this week giving information on ‘self directed support’ has been postponed.

The Argyll and Bute Council event had been due to take place in the Green Tree Cafe, at the Moat community centre in Stuart Street, from 1-4pm on Thursday, January 15.

But bad weather in mainland Argyll, and the potential for travel difficulties, has forced the organisers, who are taking the roadshow to venues throughout the council area, to call off their plans to come to Bute.

This event – part of a series taking place in towns around Argyll and Bute between now and the end of February - will be rescheduled, although a new date has yet to be confirmed. For more information on the events, and where they will be held, please visit www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/sds.

Self-directed support, which came into effect on April 1, 2014, allows people to choose how support is provided to them, in order to meet agreed health and social care outcomes, by giving them as much ongoing control as they want over the individual budget spent on their support.
