Craig Davidson from Dunoon was the best open competitor at the annual Bute Sheep Dog Trials on Wednesday.

Craig and Cap scored 98 points out of a hundred to win the Garrochty Cup ahead of runner-up Jock Welsh and Will, with Stuart Davidson and Queen in third place at a sun-kissed Eskechraggan farm near Rothesay.

The Dumfries Cup for the best local competitor was won by Sandy McKirdy and Jean, who scored 68 points.
