The boys and girls of Apple Tree Nursery welcomed three visitors to the nursery on Monday - Argyll and Bute Council’s environmental warden Ailsa Cunningham, Rachel Kerr from Keep Scotland Beautiful, and Roxy the Dog.

Ailsa, Rachel and Roxy popped in to ask the children if they would help them spread the message about why it’s bad to allow your dog to foul - and the boys and girls were only too happy to help.

Armed with leaflets and ‘poop scoop bags’, the children and staff headed down to Children’s Corner - one of the worst sites in the town for repeated dog fouling - and stopped any dog walkers there to issue them with a leaflet and a carrier bag, reminding them to ‘pick up your dog’s poo!’

During the visit, Ailsa told the children that there’s now a telephone number people can call to report someone they see allowing their dog to foul, and asked them to tell their mummies and daddies about it.
