Slideshow: Crowds flock from Bute to Colintraive’s big day

Family fun was the order of the day on Colintraive on Saturday as crowds of visitors from Bute crossed the Kyles to take part in the Cowal village’s annual fete.

Opened by local councillor Alex McNaughton, the event featured demonstrations of wood sculpture and Highland dancing, fun competitions including a coconut shy and welly-tossing contest, home baking, plants and bric-a-brac, children’s races, burgers and ice cream (both shipped over from Rothesay for the occasion!) and the traditional climax to the day - the duck-egg derby in the burn next to the village hall.
