The contents of a Shelterbox have been put on display on Bute at an open day held by the Rotary Club of Rothesay.

The club has bought two Shelterboxes this year, each costing £450 but equipped with the essentials required to provide a short-term home for up to six people.

A Shelterbox pack includes a tent, a cooker, cooking utensils, plates, cups, water filtration system, water storage, blankets, mosquito nets, tools etc and even a children’s writing pack.

Also present at the recent open day were Heartstart Bute, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and a Know Your Blood Pressure promotion, which saw Rothesay Health Centre pharmacist Peter Campbell carry out 59 tests during the event.
