The outgoing chair of local charity Achievement Bute says she has thoroughly enjoyed her time leading the organisation.

Sheena Findlay stood down at the charity’s recent AGM in Rothesay after three years in the post.

“My first involvement with Achievement Bute was as a parent,” she said, “and then as a committee member before I was asked to take over as chair.

“It’s important to do your bit, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed making a contribution. As a parent I’ve seen the difference Achievement Bute can make to families who are going through some really difficult times and I just wanted to give something back.
