Vivid folk tales from Germany and beyond were brought to life on Bute this week as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival.
Visiting storytellers Suse Weisse and Svenja Kruger were invited to share some of the folklore of their homeland and beyond as the popular annual event paid a return visit to Rothesay Library.
Their choices covered everything from servants and shoemakers to cats and mice and kept the enthusiastic audience entranced throughout.
This year’s festival runs from October 19-28 and has a programme largely inspired by the Brothers Grimm, whose fairy tales were first published two hundred years ago next month.
