The owners of a Rothesay guest house have spoken out against the organisers of the Isle of Bute Jazz Festival, claiming that they’ve refused to offer discounted tickets to revellers if they are not staying with specific accommodation providers.

Heather and Calum Robertson, who run Argyle House B&B in the town’s Argyle Street, told The Buteman that for the past 11 years, five ladies have stayed with them during the annual festival on the island, and have always received a discounted rate for tickets by booking in advance.

But the Robertsons say that this year the group was told the discounted tickets would not be made available as Argyle House is not one of the festival’s ‘listed’ accommodation providers.
