A group of Rothesay Academy pupils has been shortlisted for a top prize by the Prince’s Trust in Scotland.

The school’s S3 XL group has been chosen as one of three finalists in the Community Impact category at the charity’s annual Celebrate Success awards, taking place in Edinburgh on November 4.

The group - now in S4 - spent the 2014-15 school year organising several community events, including a ‘Banana Olympics’ for Rothesay Primary pupils to mark Fairtrade Fortnight and the co-ordination and delivery of more than a hundred Christmas hampers to vulnerable Bute residents.
