The swimming facilities at Rothesay Leisure Centre will be closed to the public for a week for repairs after members of the public slipped on supposedly non-slip tiles.
The pool at the newly-refurbished facility will close at 8pm this Friday, August 17, and will not reopen until 7.30am on Friday, August 24.
Problems with the new tiles in the ‘beach area’ of the pool - which, along with the rest of the centre, only opened its doors last month after a £400,000 refurbishment.
A spokesperson for the centre’s owners, Argyll and Bute Council, said: “The pool at Rothesay Leisure Centre will close at 8pm on Friday 17 August while recent issues at the pool’s beach area are resolved.
These issues have been investigated by Argyll and Bute Council staff, contractors and tile manufacturers and a solution has now been identified. While this is implemented, the pool area will be closed from 8pm on Friday 17 August, reopening at 7.30am on Friday 24 August.
“During this time, all other facilities at Rothesay Leisure Centre will remain open to the public as normal.”
