Have your say

Are you interested in helping improve participation in sport and physical activity on Bute? Then a meeting in Rothesay on Monday night will help you find out more.

Rothesay’s community sport hub, a joint effort between SportScotland and Argyll and Bute Council, meets at the Moat community centre in Stuart Street at 6.30pm.

The hub is a collective of local sports clubs and groups working to improve club sport and sport in the community.

Over the last two years it has held courses on football, first aid and child protection; organised a Celebration of Sport event; put together summer and October school holiday programmes; helped fund a public access defibrillator at the shinty clubhouse in the Meadows; and supported new sport initiatives such as Jog Scotland, ladies’ netball, boccia and and ‘Get Into Golf’.

Contact jillian.gibson@argyll-bute.gov.uk for more information on the hub’s work.
