Rothesay thrift shop For Bute has two reasons to celebrate this week: they’ve reached their one-year anniversary, and in that time raised more than £20,000 for Bute causes.

The shop, which opened in March last year, made cheque presentations on Friday to seven island groups with a total value of £3,000 - taking the amount raised since the shop opened its doors to £20,070.

The latest recipients of donations worth up to £500 include Bute FM, the Phoenix Centre, the Isle of Bute Angling Association and the Anne McIlroy School of Dance.
