Police in Rothesay teamed up with local cycle shop The Bike Shed to offer local cyclists the chance to make their bikes safer from theft or loss on Saturday.

Seven-year-old Megan McCormack and Lewis Driver, eight, were among those who came along to the shop in East Princes Street to have their bikes - both of them presents from Santa on Christmas Day - marked with a UV pen by local police sergeant Dave Wilkinson.

A record of all the marked cycles will be kept at Rothesay police office, meaning that if they’re lost or stolen police will immediately be able to identify them when they are found.

A second similar event will be held at The Bike Shed from 10am until 12 noon on Saturday, January 17.
