Rothesay police and The Bike Shed have joined up to offer a free 'postcoding' service for bicycles in the new year.

With many youngsters likely to be receiving brand new bikes from Santa this year, Rothesay Police and local business, The Bike Shed, have teamed up to help protect your bicycle from theft or loss.

On Saturday, January 10, from 10am to midday, and again on Saturday, January 17 from 10am to midday, local officers will be on hand at The Bike Shed in East Princes Street to post-code your bicycle with an ultraviolet pen, free of charge.

Just bring proof of ownership and your address, and you will receive a record of your bike to keep in the event of theft of loss. You can also ask the officers for advice on how to keep your bicycle safe from would-be thieves.
