Local football fans suffering end-of-season, anything-but-the-World-Cup withdrawal symptoms will be able to enjoy a charity match in Rothesay next weekend between Bute Youth Football’s under-17s - who recently played their last league match before disbanding - and a select team from the island’s emergency services.

The match takes place at the public park in High Street on Sunday, June 15 and will kick off between 2pm and 2.30pm.

Bucket-rattlers will be in attendance and all money raised will go to Light Up Bute.

Any local businesses wishing to donate or sponsor the game should get in touch with BYFC coach Roddie Leitch on roddieleitch@btinternet.com.
