Two Rothesay brothers will travel to Germany later this month to close a chapter in the wartime story of their late grandfather.

Antony died during a long ‘forced march’ from the camp in Poland in the winter of 1945, during one of the bitterest winters central Europe had ever seen.

“Whenever my grandfather spoke about Antony,” Colin said, “he would stop after a while and look out of the window - he said he was okay, but I knew
he wasn’t.

“He always wanted to know what happened to his friend. Now we’ll be able to close that aspect of his story.”
