Bute businessman Jimmy Duncan received the Rotary Club of Rothesay’s latest Community Service Award this week.

Jimmy’s award recognised some 40 years’ service to the community on Bute, particularly his involvement with Bute Highland Games and Bute Shinty Club - both as a player and an official.

Jimmy, who is also a member of the Bute Ceilidh Band, was additionally recognised for going ‘that extra mile’ for his customers at the family-run garage business, W. & J. Duncan.

He was presented with his award by local Rotary Club president Stewart Shaw at the club’s Irish Night at Kingarth Hotel on March 19.
