The Scottish Government's Regeneration Capital Grant Fund has awarded 625,000 to the refurbishment of Rothesay Pavilion.

Plans for Rothesay Pavilion’s regeneration have taken a significant step forward with the award of a Scottish Government grant of more than £600,000.

The Pavilion project is one of 18 schemes to receive a share of £14.3 million from the Regeneration Capital Grants Fund.

The RCGF grant has added £625,000 to the overall pot for the restoration of the Pavilion, and news on further funding applications for the project - including a bid for around £3 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund - is expected to follow over the coming months.

Meanwhile, planning permission has also been granted for all the work to be undertaken on the building as part of the restoration project - including the development of office structures and a glazed-in function room on the roof.
