The service given by Bute’s special police constables was honoured at a civic reception in Rothesay this week.

Bute’s five serving ‘specials’ - Joshua Dadd, Kerr Dickson, Duncan Ewing, Colin Fulcher and Stephen Neilson - can boast a total of 65 years’ police service between them, and received warm praise from those present at the event, held in Rothesay Pavilion.

Chief Inspector Gary Stitt, Police Scotland’s senior officer for the South Argyll, Helensburgh and Lomond division, said: “Our special constables do a fantastic job, and it’s great to know we have officers who are willing to give up their own time to support us - and more importantly to support their community.”
