Work is finally under way this week on applying the finishing touches to the revamped gardens on the corner of Montague Street and High Street in Rothesay town centre.

After a hiatus of several weeks, personnel from Argyll and Bute Council, rather than from the contractor, Storie (Argyll) Ltd, have moved on to the site to carry out the installation of electrical equipment, wiring and lighting.

The gardens are to be officially opened at the town’s Christmas lights switch-on on Thursday, December 5, and local councillor Robert Macintyre said: “It’ll be a race against time, but I’ve been assured that all the stops will be pulled out.”
