A local hearing will be held to decide the fate of a planning application for two wind turbines on Bute, it’s been confirmed.

Argyll and Bute Council’s planning, protective services and licensing committee decided on Wednesday to defer a decision on Bute Community Power’s proposals for Auchintirrie.

Planning officials had recommended refusal of the application - but not without a discretionary hearing, because of the “not insignificant” number of comments from Bute itself in support of the application.

The hearing is likely to be held during September, though an exact date and a venue have not yet been decided: we will, however, announce the details as soon as they’re made public.
