Eight members of the junior section of the 1st Port Bannatyne Boys’ Brigade Company travelled to Greenock last weekend to take part in a ‘unihoc’ competition hosted by the BB’s Inverclyde Battalion.

The Bute team came second out of seven teams in the competiition, winning five of their six games and losing only to the eventual winners, 1st Greenock Company.

The Bute squad was also able to lend its substitutes to one of the other Greenock companies to help them get their team up to strength. A very good day out was enjoyed by the children and leaders.

Unihoc is one of the alternative titles given to the sport of ‘floorball’, a simplified indoor version of hockey.
