Police probe break-in at former Rothesay church

Police in Rothesay are appealing for information from the public after a former chuirch in the town was broken into.

Damage was caused to the interior of the former Free Church in the town’s Chapelhill Road some time between July 25 and August 23.

Anyone with information can call dial 101 for Police Scotland and ask for Constable Bond at Rothesay police office.

The building had been used as a storage facility and was also the subject of attempts - thus far unsuccessful - to secure planning permission for its conversion to a house and business premises.

Police are also seeking help after a quantity of metal was stolen from West Princes Street in the town some time in the last fortnight; again, if you have information you can call 101 and ask for Constable McKendry at Rothesay police office.
