Police have issued a warning to cyclists to ensure their bikes are fully fitted with working lights after an incident at the weekend on Bute.

Rothesay police will be paying close attention to cyclists on Bute to ensure they have working front and rear lights on their bikes during hours of darkness.

The warning comes after a cyclist collided with a parked car at the weekend on the island.

All cyclists are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure that not only can they be seen by other road users, but to ensure they have a clear view of the road themselves.
