For this week’s trip into the archives we travel back 15 years to the 70th birthday of the Port Bannatyne branch of the SWRI - now simply the SWI.

The left-hand half of the photo above shows the following from back to front: Mary Harrower, Margaret Whitelaw, Wilma Cameron, Mattie Reid, Lilias Yeaman, Helen MacLeod, Elisabeth Johnston, Beck Reid, Joyce Ritchie, Unknown, Jean McMillan, Margaret Thompson, Sirian Renfrew, Etta McFarlane, Mary Walker, Florence Shand, Jessmay Morton, Elizabeth Duncan, Margaret Dougal, and Marie Scott.

Nine of the above are still members and were featured in our recent photo from the 85th anniversary celebration. Also taken at that recent event was the right-hand half of the picture above, showing present-day Port SWI president Jessmay Morton making a presentation to Marie Scott to kark Marie’s 50 years of service as the branch’s magazine secretary.
