Nostalgia: Taxi-driver Tom and his Rothesay passengers

This week's Bits from Bygone Bute photo was sent to us by Thomas Lennie, and shows his uncle Tom Lumsden, taken in Rothesay where he stayed in Union Street. Thomas tells us: 'I used to go there for my holidays when I was a young boy, now I am 90 years old. I do not know how old it [the photo] is, but he was a taxi driver and also worked for the council in Rothesay. He was well-known in Rothesay and his wife, Peggy Lumsden, was also well-known.' Many thanks to Thomas for sharing his photo, and if you've got an image you'd like to see printed in our weekly feature, send it to us at news@buteman.com.
