A Bute mother and daughter cycling team are busy preparing for their next challenge.

Marion and Sarah Murdoch will be making the 300-mile trip from London to Paris on June 2, all in aid of Alzheimer Scotland.

The pair, who completed a similar - although considerably shorter - journey from Bute to Stranraer to raise funds for the charity last year, have kicked things up a gear with this four-day challenge which will see them travel through the Kent countryside to Dover, before crossing the Channel to cycle through the rolling, green fields of northern France, finishing beneath the iconic Eiffel Tower.

The cause Marion and Sarah have chosen to support is particularly close to their hearts as they have family members with the condition and have seen first-hand the horrific effects it has on not only the person themselves, but their friends and relatives.
