A commander of the Royal Navy’s midget submarines who trained in Port Bannatyne during the Second World War has been made an ambassador for the Mission to Seafarers, Scotland.

The bravery of the crew saw a VC being awarded to each of the commanding officers, Donald Cameron and Godfrey Place, three DSOs and a CGM.
