Lotto grant for Port Bannatyne gala group

The organisers of the annual Port Bannatyne Gala Day have received a £2,000 grant from the National Lottery’s Awards for All scheme.

The group will use the funding to landscape and erect sheds on a derelict piece of land for use by the community.

The construction of the shed in question - to be used to store materials for the gala day, and also for the village’s Christmas lights display, being taken on by the ‘Port Gala Group’ for the first time this year - is already well under way on a site in Stuart Street next to the village hall.
