Who is your volunteer of the year?

Argyll Voluntary Action wants to hear from you if you know of a person or organisation that has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help others.

Argyll Voluntary Action wants to hear from you if you know of a person or organisation that has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help others.

Volunteering and helping others is at the heart of our communities, and nowhere do we see this more than in our rural communities. In these areas volunteering, being part of your community and helping others is often a way of life.

Every year Argyll Voluntary Action (AVA) help celebrate this work across Argyll and Bute, and this year is no different as nominees are now being taken for Argyll Voluntary Action’s Volunteer of the Year Award.

Volunteers don’t ask to be rewarded but AVA would like to take this opportunity to thank the individuals, the groups and the organisations that make a huge difference to people’s lives.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, April 18, so if you know someone or an organisation that goes the extra mile to help others, why not nominate them?

There are different categories to nominate in; forms can be found by clicking here. You can also call the Oban office on 01631 564839 or pop in to your local AVA office

The award ceremony will be held on Friday, June 13, at the Council Chambers, Kilmory, Lochgilphead.

AVA has over 25 members of staff and has offices in the main towns across Argyll and Bute. The organisation supports volunteers, voluntary organisations, and the community through advice, training and services.
