Weather: Snow warning for Argyll and Bute on February 13

The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning for Argyll and Bute, and the rest of Strathclyde, for snow on Wednesday, February 13.

However, any snow cover at low levels is not expected to last.

The warning states: “A band of sleet and snow is expected to spread across much of Scotland and parts of northern England during Wednesday.

“Accumulations of 2 to 6 cm could occur at lower elevations, but perhaps more than 10 cm over some hilly areas, where drifting is possible in strong winds.

“However, the snow should ease and revert to rain later in the day, so snow cover at low levels should be temporary.”
