The owner of a holiday flat in Rothesay has contacted The Buteman to pass on the feedback of a visitor who has vowed never to return to the town because of the lack of things to do.
Martin Robertson alerted us to the visitor’s litany of complaints, including the lack of facilities for children, the cost of a tour of Mount Stuart and the difficulties presented to people wanting to fish at Rothesay pier.
Mr Robertson’s guest said: “To be truthful Rothesay in general hasn’t got a lot going for it.”
Mr Robertson himself told The Buteman: “Is this the image Rothesay wants to give to tourists? After all, nobody passes through an island, so there has to be some motivation to go there. If it’s dismal, unfriendly and overpriced it’s not going to attract visitors!”
