Residents of a Rothesay block of flats have described their terror after metal scaffolding boards came loose and crashed through the windows of their homes.

Windows in six of the eight flats at Glenfaulds, in the town’s Mountstuart Road, were broken after high winds dislodged the platforms on the morning of December 5.

“My husband and son had just come out of the bedroom when there was an almighty crash,” Glenfaulds resident Angela Callaghan told The Buteman.

“A metal board had come right through the window and there was glass everywhere. If my husband and I had been in bed, we could have been badly hurt.”
